Tiŋmiaqsiugvik River and Willow Area Fish Sampling (2020-2021)

This report documents the results of fish sampling in the Tiŋmiaqsiugvik River drainage (also known as the Ublutuoch River). The primary goals of this effort was to determine the fish species using the drainage and to describe seasonal use patterns within the river and tributaries. This project is intended to establish long term monitoring sites, to estimate the population sizes of dominant fish using the system and to describe population characteristics.

These are the initial years of a 5-year study that is being conducted in accordance with the conditions of the Alpine - Greater Mooses Tooth Unit (GMTU) consolidated rezone North Slope Borough Ordinance Serial No. 75-06-72. The studies will build upon the previous sampling efforts and provide baseline population information for future long-term monitoring in the area.
