Chukchi Shelf Shallow Geology Compilation (CSR 1303)

Shell Exploration & Production Company (Shell) contracted with Canadian Seabed Research Ltd. to compile and analyze shallow geology data for the Chukchi Sea. The compilation included results from the interpretation of publicly available high resolution geophysical and geological data within the Chukchi Sea, in order to develop a model of the regional shallow geology within Shell’s prior area of interest. The study included side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and uniboom seismic data from select USGS regional studies. Sub-bottom data from the Coast Guard vessel Healy was also included, as were datasets from Legacy Wellsite shallow hazard surveys.

The compilation was limited to interpretation of publicly available high resolution geophysical and geological data within the Chukchi Sea.
