Harrison Bay Nearshore Fish Surveys, 2018 Summary Report

Nearshore fish surveys were performed in Harrison Bay during 2018. Harrison Bay is a shallow, estuarine environment located along the Beaufort Sea coastline that includes the Colville River delta and outlets to several smaller rivers and creeks. In recent years, studies of nearshore and offshore fish assemblages have been conducted and it is clear that these water provide important foraging habitat, proximity to shelter and overwintering habitat for all life stages of fish present in the region.

The primary objectives of this effort were to survey fish communities using multiple survey methods, measure ambient water characteristics (temperature and salinity) and mark individual adult/sub-adult anadromous fish.
