Monitoring spring and summer subsistence harvests of migratory birds in Alaska is part of the management and conservation efforts required under the Migratory Bird Treaty with Canada and Mexico and their Amendments. The Alaska Migratory Bird Co-Management Council (AMBCC) was created with the mission of involving subsistence users and their communities in a wide variety of migratory bird regulatory and management activities, including the implementation of a statewide subsistence harvest monitoring program.
