2018 Caribou Monitoring Study for the Alpine Satellite Development Program, Greater Moose's Tooth Unit and Bear Tooth Unit CPAI:Research Reports
This report provides results of the 2018 caribou monitoring study for Alpine Satellite Development Program (ASDP), Greater Moose's Tooth (GMT) Unit and Bear Tooth Unit that is conducted on the Arctic Coastal Plain in the northeastern portion of the National Petroleum Reserve - Alaska and the adjacent Colville River delta. These areas are used at various times of the year by barren-ground caribou of the neighboring Teshekpuk Herd and Central Arctic Herd.
This monitoring study builds on prior research funded by CPAI (and heritage companies Phillips Alaska Inc. and ARCO Alaska Inc.) that was conducted on the Colville River delta and adjacent coastal plain east of the delta since 1992 and the northeastern portion of the NPRA since 1999.
