Eider Nest Searches within CD3, AD4, CD5, Alpine, GMT-1, and Colville Areas (1994-2017) CPAI:Research Reports
Spectacled Eiders and Steller's Eiders occur on the Colville River Delta and are listed as threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. In areas of potential breeding habitat, the location of Spectacled Eider nests were documented in areas slated for off-pad activities.
The Spectacled Eider is the focus of reporting because they commonly nest in the northern parts of the Colville delta. Stellar's Eider is rare on the Colville delta and nests primarily near Barrow, although their historic range included all of the Arctic Coastal Plain in Alaska.
