Ozone Monitoring Pilot Project National Petroleum Reserve Inigok, Alaska

Ozone is a powerful oxidant, a respiratory hazard and pollutant, which is why there is an established 8-hour ozone standard not to be exceeded more than three times in a year. This report summarizes and analyzes ozone data measured at the BLM Inigok site located in a remote area on Alaska’s North Slope in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). Due to the remote location, monitoring was only conducted from June to August 2014. Results are compared with ozone data measured at Barrow and Umiat.
